COLD LASER

Laser therapy is a non-invasive procedure that uses light energy from a laser to penetrate the body causing decreased pain, inflammation, accelerated healing of damaged tissues and relaxation in muscles. Laser therapy is administered by placing a small wand over the skin for several minutes causing increase in blood supply and increased oxygenation in the cells, decreasing swelling.

What can be treated with Laser Therapy?

Since laser therapy decreases inflammation in the body treatment is effective for bursitis, tendonitis, capsulitis, strains, sprains, plantar fasciitis and epicondylitis and TMD.  Laser is also effective for muscular pain relief in areas including the neck, back and jaw.

Is the procedure painful? Laser therapy is completely non-invasive and will not cause pain in treatment area. Each laser treatment only takes a few minutes to complete, and you should not feel any heat, burning or vibration throughout session. If you experience any discomfort during treatment be sure to alert therapist.

How long does the procedure take to work?

Patients usually begin to feel effects from laser between the second and forth treatment with acute injuries. Five or more session may be needed for more chronic or long term issues.
